Torre Zambra Colle Maggio Montepulciano 2024
The Wine
Sourced from a single site and wild fermented in stainless steel, this wine was aged for four months in concrete tanks and six months in oak, with 20% new barrels, blending large and small French and Slavonian formats. Known for its broodier character, the 2024 vintage appears more refined and taut—and honestly, all the better for it.
92 Pts Danielle Caligari, Wine Enthusiast 'On the nose, freshly brewed coffee and a peppery flintiness balance malted chocolate dusted over sweet ripe blackberries and black cherries. The fruit stays sweet, ripe and chocolate-covered on the palate, but more metallic earth elements and savory, spicy notes push back, anchored in powerful tannins and a lingering peppery heat that drives through the finish. Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is usually either too indulgent or too severe—this is a great example of a bottle that gives you the best of all worlds and at a killer price point.'
