It’s on this exceptional plot that the oldest traces of white grape varieties were discovered in Beaune. Before it was called Clos Saint-Landry, this 1.98-hectare vineyard was known as Tiélandry, named after a landowner called Landry. It later belonged to the Maizières Abbey, before Antoine Philippe Joseph Bouchard bought it entirely in 1791.

92-94 Pts 5 Stars Jasper Morris MW 'This was one of the first Bouchard plots to be managed with biodynamics. I find precision more than opulent fruit on the nose, an electric clarity on the palate, then access to minerals, with lovely detail all the way through, more fresh than creamy as Beaune can be. Beautiful persistence. Drink from 2027-2034.'

17.5+/20 Andy Howard MW jancisrobinson.com 'Monopole. Super white Beaune premier cru – fresh, pure and driven on the nose! Quince, peach notes, with a splash of lemon/lime zest and a mineral undertow. Not a blockbuster but a refined premier cru with length and finesse. Fine. Drink 2027-2037'

About the Wine Maker

Vignoble des Cabottes is the new name for some of the finest vineyards in the Côte de Beaune. Founded in 2025, the estate brings together 35 hectares of historic climats: 10 hectares of Grand Cru on the slopes of Puligny-Montrachet and Corton hill, plus 22 hectares of Premier Cru in Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune, Meursault, and Volnay. The 2023 vintage marks its first release, born from one of Burgundy’s most notable recent restructurings.

After Groupe Artémis acquired Bouchard Père et Fils, the holdings were carefully divided. Vignoble des Cabottes received the most prestigious parcels—Montrachet, Chevalier-Montrachet, Corton-Charlemagne, Le Corton, and top Beaune Premiers Crus like Vigne de l’Enfant Jésus and two historic monopoles. Many of these plots have been under Bouchard’s ownership since the late 18th and 19th centuries. Longtime caretaker of these vineyards, winemaker Frédéric Weber, now leads the new estate, while the remaining Côte de Beaune vineyards remain under the Bouchard Père name with Mickael Baroin, Weber’s longtime oenologist, at the helm.

The first vintages carry the Vignoble des Cabottes label. French law initially barred the use of the Domaine designation for a new estate, even though all wines were estate-grown and domaine-produced. Starting with the 2025 vintage, the name changes to Domaine des Cabottes, reflecting the domaine spirit present from the beginning.

The name pays homage to the Cabottes, small drystone shelters scattered across the Côte d’Or vineyards, and honors a cuvée crafted since 1997: Chevalier-Montrachet La Cabotte, a 0.21-hectare parcel at the meeting point of Montrachet and Chevalier-Montrachet, where one of the estate’s Cabottes still overlooks the vines.
