The Wine
100% Falanghina. From vineyards located in the territory of municipality of Torrecuso in the province of Benevento - on calcareous clay, marl-clay, slime and sandy soil.
92 Pts Huon Hooke, The Real Review 'Light to mid straw-yellow with a tinge of brass; a straw/hay and dried herb bouquet, a hint of toasted nuts. Tensioned and layered palate profile with lemon the dominant flavour together with a nutty overtone, and the finish is full, clean and dry. Long, resonant aftertaste. Lots to like here. Drink 2025-2029'

About the Wine Maker
Villa Raiano is a family-owned vineyard at 400m near San Michelle di Serino. Falanghina is a local grape variety with citrus and white stone fruit aromas. Villa Raiano Falanghina has notes of mineral notes and honey on the crisp finish. The family-owned winery of Villa Raiano was established in 1996, in the village of Raiano, Campania. In 2009 a new winery was built - on top of a hill amongst vineyards and chestnut woods, overlooking the River Sabato near San Michele di Serino in the Southern Apennines. They are dedicated to producing a range of wines from local varieties Aglianico, Fiano and Greco - primarily sourced (80%) from 20 hectares of their own organically farmed vines, across three DOCGs. They also produce Falanghina from vineyards owned by local growers.
