94 Pts Ray Jordan, Wine Pilot 'Hails from the Menzies Estate vineyard, smack bang in the middle of Coonawarra on those famous terra rossa over limestone soils. The aromas provide a slightly interesting departure from the fairly typical blackcurrant, which is still there but augmented with a subtle blueberry note. Typically elegant and poised, which is what you’d expect from Coonawarra, but there is a deceptive structural integrity here that gives it purpose and definition to carry through to a sustained long finish. It will continue to improve with further cellaring.'

About the Wine Maker 
Yalumba was established in 1849 by Samuel Smith, a British migrant and English brewer, who moved his family to Angaston in search of a new life. After purchasing a 30-acre plot just beyond Angaston's southeastern boundary, Smith and his son planted their first vines under the moonlight. Samuel named the land 'Yalumba," an Aboriginal word meaning "all the land around.' Now, five generations and 160 years later, Yalumba stands as Australia's oldest family-owned winery, renowned for its growth and contribution to the global success of Australian wine.
