The Wine

A classic expression crafted from grapes cultivated at the Costalunga estate, embodies the vineyard's essence. It is characteristically robust yet exhibits an unexpected delicacy, airiness, and a touch of the ethereal and elegant. Traditional Maraschino cherry flavors are present, complemented by a distinct herbal and spicy profile, reminiscent of bay leaves and whole peppercorns. The real deal!

Very youthful. Full-bodied, dense and balanced, with savory flavors of chocolate and cherries, super-tasty style, tight, chalky yet ripe tannins and a fresh, cleansing acidity. Toasty finish. Drinkable now, but best in a year or two.'

About the Wine Maker

Founded in 1960 by Sergio and Carla Zenato, their Amarone is produced at their Costalunga Estate, in Valpolicella. Based on the grapes Corvina, Rondinella and Oseleta grapes, they are left to rest in small boxes after harvest to dehyrate, resulting in concentrated and intense flavours. They are then gently pressed to create a wine of undoubted quality with great complexity that gets better with age. Even now its so smooooth and round on the palate!
