About the Wine Maker
Saint Clair Family Estate, owned by Neal and Judy Ibbotson, has been part of Marlborough’s wine scene since 1978. Initially supplying grapes to local wineries, their passion for carrying the vineyard’s quality into the finished product led them to launch Saint Clair Family Estate in 1994. The name comes from the property’s history, first settled by the Sinclair family. James Sinclair, a local pioneer, built one of the first homes in Blenheim and played a key role in the town’s early growth. Over time, the property’s name returned to its original form, Saint Clair. Today, the estate’s mission is to craft world-class wines that surpass expectations, blending Neal’s deep viticultural knowledge and Marlborough’s ideal conditions with the skill of one of New Zealand’s top winemaking teams.
