The Wine

Complex and wide scent with youthful nose, fresh with hints of violets, berries and wood arising from the cask aging. A slight hint of licorice, typical of the wines produced according to local tradition; nevertheless, the fruitiness of Nebbiolo emerges.

On the eye it's quite transparent - belieing the power it holds...Pleasantly dry, with balanced tannins. Packed full of flavour but with softness and silkiness from a few years in bottle - great density on display with a pure harmonicity from the tannic equilibrium - freshness that flows elegantly, providing great enjoyment and pleasure. An absolutely joyful and elegant Neb!

About the Wine Maker

Cascina Pugnane is situated on a hill where the Municipalities of Barolo, Monforte and Castiglione Falletto meet, in the heart of the Barolo area on the hill of Pugnane "CRU".

The farm spans 6 hectares, with about 4.5 hectares devoted to producing Nebbiolo wine from Barolo and Dolcetto DOC, 1 hectare for cultivating Piedmont Nocciola, and the remaining 0.5 hectares used for farm-related purposes like buildings, a wine cellar, and fruit growing. It has an annual capacity of over 350 tonnes of grapes. The company primarily focuses on Barolo, with smaller quantities of Dolcetto and Nocciole grown in areas unsuitable for proper vine development and maturation.

Production emphasizes quality over quantity, limiting bottled wine output to 2,500 bottles of Barolo DOCG annually and a residual 1,000–2,000 bottles of Dolcetto. The rest of the production is sold to other operators at various production stages.
