The Wine

La Commenda captures the essence of Tuscan terroir, crafted from estate-grown Sangiovese with a hint of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Fermented in stainless steel and concrete, then aged for 18 months in concrete, it delivers vibrant red fruit, smooth tannins, and a touch of mineral elegance. As a Chianti Superiore DOCG, it meets higher standards of lower yields and extended aging, offering depth and balance that rival a Chianti Classico.

About the Wine Maker

Mansalto is a historic Tuscan estate dating back to the 14th century, brought back to life in 2012. Nestled near Siena, it combines its classic terroir with modern, sustainable winemaking. Covering 2,000 hectares of forest, it produces high-altitude (500–600m) Sangiovese-based wines like Chianti Superiore, known for fresh fruit flavors, bright acidity, and aging in concrete.
