Domaine Larue St Aubin 1er Cru Murgers des Dents de Chein 2022
The Wine
The most prized terroir of Saint-Aubin, Les Murgers sits at the highest point of the appellation on a solid limestone plateau with an impregnable view of the Côte d’Or below. Situated above En Remilly with south to southeast exposure, it lies between twenty and sixty meters directly above Chevalier-Montrachet. Picture a brighter, higher-altitude version of this storied grand cru! A firm nose leads to a beautiful richness on the palate, then a finish with a persistent and mighty stony grip. The longest ager of the Larue stable, this is a real thoroughbred that you should classify along with the great premiers crus of Chassagne, Puligny, and Meursault. Dixon Brooke, KLWM

About the Wine Maker
“Wines from Larue possess purity, energy, and an invariable minerality derived from the predominant limestone soils of Saint-Aubin. The Larues are meticulous and precise in all aspects of winegrowing and winemaking and their wines reflect these qualities. These wonderful white Burgundies have the additional benefit of being approachable young, although they are tightly wound and can always benefit from a few extra years of bottle age” – Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant
Domaine Larue is in the heart of St Aubin. Founded in 1946. Now managed by Didier and Denis Larue with Bruno (Didier’s son) recently joining the team. Estate consists of 17ha between St Aubin, Chassagne Montrachet and Puligny Montrachet. They particularly specialize in 1er Cru St Aubin of which they own seven different 1er Cru’s. En Remilly and Murgers Dents de Chien are particularly highly regarded. Domaine Larue make unapologetic dry, tense and precise Chardonnay. High density plantings (10,000 vines per hect). Hand picked, no herbicide. Fermentation in barrel (except Aligote), ¼ new. Light filtration on all wines before bottling.
