The Wine

52.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot, 2.5% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc

Duluc is the second wine of the Chateau Branaire-Ducru, 4th Cru Classe (1855) and was created in the 1990s. The 2019 Duluc opens quickly with aeration, delivering beautiful black and red fruit complexity, enhanced by spicy notes and a lightly minty hint. The palate shows a nice roundness. Fleshy and soft, it develops precise and pure fruit aromatics.

92 Points James Suckling,

About the Wine Maker

Chateau Branaire-Ducru's (4th Cru Classe) owner/manager, François-Xavier Maroteaux has picked up the baton and continues his father’s legacy (RIP 2017). The Maroteaux family bought the property in 1988 and have invested considerably in the vineyard and winery since. Superstar consultant Eric Boissenot advises here, as he does with many of the Left Bank’s top estates, including the Medoc’s four first growths.
