The Wine
This cuvee comes from their oldest vines, which have an average age of around seventy years. These grow on soils with granite and decomposed slate.
The Morgon is considered the most powerful of the Beaujolais Crus. The wines are characterized by substance and quite strong tannins for a Beaujolais. Nevertheless, a Morgon always retains charm.
Fermented in concrete tanks, the wine matures for around eight months in older barriques. This gives this profound wine a subtle spice and further increases the already existing aromatic complexity.
The 2022 delights with its ripe red berry and cherry scents, very long, silky and playful. Magnificent mastery for beautiful balances between the matter, the spices, the fruit. No heaviness. Give it some time to gain volume and complexity. To enjoy now, decant or hold till 2025 and then drink it over the next 7-8 years.
