Kewin Descombes Beaujolais Village 2022
The Wine
This comes from vines planted right outside the border of the Brouilly It's refreshingly juicy and light with attractive bitter cherry and redcurrant flavours that turn sweeter on the finish. Brisk, tangy and lithe style - silky tannins and strong, nervy persistence frame the finish. This wine is incredibly easy to drink but it doesn't lack for complexity!

About the Wine Maker
Kewin - or Kéké to his mates - has Beaujolais in his blood. The son of Georges Descombes, close mate and occasional, unofficial fifth member of Kermit Lynch's famous “Gang of Four” of Marcel Lapierre, Jean-Paul Thévenet, Jean Foillard & Guy Breton, it was almost inevitable that Kéké would follow a similar path.
His wines have all the pretty poise, acid and elegance you’d expect from such heritage, and a refinement, structure and confidence that belies his age. Farming is organic, intervention is minimally minimal. Still just in his twenties, Kéké is unambiguously one of the reinvigorated Beaujolais region’s brightest young talents.
