The Wine

Displaying a vibrant ruby red with solid, darker undertones, on the nose it offers an abundance of Pinot character alongside a wealth of classic Martinborough traits. The palate is silky, with a tender texture with a substantial fruity presence, mirroring the aroma with a balanced blend of fruit, spice, and earthy notes. The finish is pleasing, showcasing savory and earthy tones characteristic of a fine Martinborough Pinot. While delightful at present, this wine promises to reach new heights of flavor with a few years of aging and will continue to drink well for many years ahead.

5 Stars & 93/100 Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
"Pristine and elegantly fragrant, the bouquet shows sweet cherry, pomegranate, olive and subtle spice aromas, leading to a succulent palate offering bright fruit flavours with supple texture and fine-grained tannins. Beautifully composed with finesse and harmony. At its best: now to 2029."

4 Stars Michael Cooper
"This top value red is estate-grown and harvested mostly from 'younger vines' in the Blue Rock Vineyard. Ruby hued, the fragrant 2022 vintage is a mouthfilling, supple, very varietal wine, with youthful, ripe cherry and red berry flavours, gentle spicy notes, considerable complexity and a softly textured finish. A graceful red, it should be at its best mid-2024+."

92/100 Cameron Douglas MS
"Vibrant, lifted, fruity, varietal and very new bouquet. Scents of dark cherry flesh and sweet red plums, violets and savoury dried herb qualities. Aromas of smoky wood and dried earth mineral qualities layer incomplexity and breadth. The youthful savoury qualities touch the palate first followed by flavours of dark plums and black currant then cherry. The smoky oak and earthy savoury qualities are persistent adding length and texture to the palate. Firm tannins, medium+ acid line and lengthy finish. A wine that could do with some cellar time with best drinking likely from early to mid 2025 through 2033+."
